Yes, and it works. I volunteered in domestic violence for a long time and saw woman and children, of all ages, in your situation. Call your local women's shelter and go in. The shelter is not only to be safe, but to give support to you and the baby. Help with finding a job, applying for welfare if needed, clothes, medical, legal, etc. You do not have to be alone and lost because of an abusive husband/father. The ladies in the shelter I volunteered at were supportive of one another and it helped them get back on their feet and to recover. God bless and good luck to you. Make that call!
